I mean, I do the best I can with what I have, but there's no use in letting worry paralyze you. Not that you are doing that.

I heard an interesting statistic once about children who go off the deep end; they run away, use drugs, etc.. Children whose parents are very involved in their lives are significantly at lower risk for these behaviors. However, as the speaker said, that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen to the "well-raised" kids; it just happens less often. I actually found find that comforting in a weird sort of way, knowing that being involved is very important, but it's not the only thing that will cause my children to turn out well. Does that make sense?Nikkihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01252557235709012777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32378954.post-62595943801953696892009-08-19T13:45:19.540-07:002009-08-19T13:45:19.540-07:00I completely feel the same way, even if my kids ar...I completely feel the same way, even if my kids are much younger than yours. Some nights I have minor breakdowns, wondering if I handled a situation correctly or if I just scarred my child for life.
Having worked with preteens and teens while teaching junior high in Massachusetts, I know what a bewildering and scary time it is - both for the child and the parent. I too have marked families with teens and young adults that are "making it" and doing a great job. And then of course there's always my parents - who did everything perfectly, naturally. sigh...Mrs. Frogsterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06067224159061270063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32378954.post-17253531288024290942009-08-19T12:31:29.282-07:002009-08-19T12:31:29.282-07:00((hugs))
