Of Beautiful weather and Sick babies

In spite of the persistent claims of wet weather coming our way, we have had truly beautiful weather here- especially for this time of year. It has been sunny, with highs in the fifties. Considering it is our rainy season, this hiatus is enough to make a person delirious.

Unfortunately, the germs are circulately right on schedule.

My little girl is asleep on my bed right now. She has a chest cold that seems to be getting worse, making her sound like a miniature locomotive. It would be funny if it wasn't so pitiful. I hate it when my babies are sick- and they are always your babies when they are sick (even the ten-year-old).

And some well-meaning person felt the need to tell me today that some children have gotten pneumonia from it and a few have died- I really don't need to hear things like this!

So I am thinking of picking her up and rocking her while she sleeps. And suddenly it makes me remember when she had the same thing as a baby....and it's hard to believe that was five years ago. Time goes by so quickly....

So here's to hoping the lovely weather stays, and the nasty germs go.

You know Peter has this stuff too. The last time he went to school was wednesday. I didnt send him to basketball practice or to his game or to church on Sunday. I plan on letting him go back to school today. He's still not well though.

Sarah Beth is getting over a cold right now, too. They sure are pitiful when they are sick, aren't they?

I know what you mean! We've enjoyed a pretty mild winter this year, but the germs have enjoyed it too... and decided to stick around!! Hope your lovely little girl is feeling better soon!

Have you ever tried using Ravensara essential oil? It really helps my kids lungs clear up. I sure hope that your little one is feeling better soon. My oldest (7) just had the flu...I hate it when they are not well.

Thanks for stopping by Angelika- I've never heard of the oil you mentioned, but I do like natural remedys, so I think I'll look that up.

I think Ravensara is difficult to find....Not sure, but most people I talk to have not heard of it. I should blog about it sometime. It's been a wonderful oil to have around for situations such as these.

has some post on oils.
