I was pleasantly surprised to find that over the weekend I was given an award(s) by two of my favorite fellow bloggers.
Kristy at Homemakers Cottage has graciously given me the Marie Antoinette Real Person Award. I've enjoyed reading about Kristy (a Pastor's wife) and her families day to day activities over the last year or so. But I also go to her blog because of the many posts she has written (and will hopefully continue to write) on issues that I think are important for Christian women to consider. So many times she writes exactly what I want to write on an important topic, but so much better than I possibly could. I know she has helped many of us to be better wives and mothers. So thank you Kristy for this award, I definitely consider it a compliment coming from you.
Frasypoo of This and That has also given me the Let them eat cake (keeping it real) Award. I think these are possibly the same award (being that it was Marie Antoinette who made that memorable remark), but in case I'm wrong I wanted to list it both ways. Frasypoo is "a Southern Peach by way of India" to put it in her own words. She writes colorful posts on a variety of topics, including politics. I appreciate her passion for life, and for the Republican party;) Thank you so much for giving me this award Frazy. It's good to see your friendly "face" in the blog world once again.
I'm passing this award on to two fellow bloggers. The first one, Marva, has been a blogging friend for a while now. She has gone through some truly trying times this past year. In spite of it all, she continues to have a sweet, positive spirit. Sometimes she blogs about the nitty gritty, or not so enjoyable times in life, but she rarely fails to point out that God is still good in spite of the circumstances. So I wanted to pass this award on to you friend, and also let you know that you and your family are in my prayers.
The next person I'm passing this award to is Gwendolyn. My limited blogging time the last few months has meant that I've mostly stayed within my little circle of blogging friends. However, I make a habit of always visiting the blogs of those who comment on my own blog, and that's how I found her. I don't know her very well, but I have to say that she has a talent for taking mundane things and making them quite humorous in a tongue-in-cheek way. Who else could find comfort in the fact that Barack Obama hates beets? :) So Gwendolyn, I'm passing this award to you for making me laugh while keeping it real.
I'm off to two Dental appointments this morning. I really dread going to the Dentist, regardless of who actually goes into the room to be worked over;) I make a habit of reminding myself that we are fortunate to have Dental coverage at all, and that helps to keep the panic down to a workable level (or so I tell myself).
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
