No, you have not mentioned that you are raising chickens. Why? I realize that you will probably eat the eggs, but will you also eat the chickens? Will you get to experience the reality of a chicken running around with its head cut off?

Oh, and it is a cute picture! I forgot to mention that earlier.

Oh wow, I don't know that I would be able to raise chickens!! That must have been quite an adventure.

(I couldn't spell the first time)

As I said, we TRIED raising chickens:) It started out well. We had 10 little chickens in a variety of colors. When they were really small we kept them in a box in the house with a heat lamp continually on them.

Then we moved them into a pen outside. One day we came home to a broken gate, and a few feathers; my neighbor's dog had struck again:(

Only four chickens survived, and we found them a good home that was dog-free;)

Yes, we raised them for eggs, and they were delicious. We plan to raise chickens again once we get that piece of land out in the country. Until then, we'll buy our eggs from the grocery store:)

We did the same thing when our youngest was a baby. They are very cute when they are little chickies but then they get big and ugly. We did some eggs from them, though.
