It has been hinted that I am not blogging as often as I should. I admit it's not at the top of my list of things to do each day. But I have decided I will post something every day from now on even if it is an incredibly boring and run-of-the-mill day (there, you've been warned!). Anyway, here goes.
After a busy day that started at 5:30am when the kid's and I took Dad to work so we could have the car for our combined homeschooling (two days a week) I was looking forward to a little shopping after my daughter's speech therapy session (is that a run-on sentence or what?). Alas, it was not to be. I developed a monster headache accompanied by nausea on the way to picking up hubby. Fortunately he was able to drop me off before the appointment and I could take my meds. I fell asleep for about three hours shortly after, only to awake with pain behind my left eye (classic migraine). So more medicine. I went back to bed a few hours later. My worry is that it will come back tonight at the Singing Christmas Tree activity hubby and I are attending. You know, lots of lights and noise. Anyways, I warned that this would be boring (haha). Well, off to school now. Be sure to return tommorrow for more fascinating reading~

AWOL
I have truly meant to get to posting but have been so busy with the Thanksgiving holiday. Hubby was off for the whole week, and it gave us a chance to do so many things that we've needed to do forever. My in-laws came to our house for the Thanksgiving meal and I think I outdid myself this year (yes, I'm patting myself on the back). My father-in-law earned brownie points from me, as he had to miss his Thanksgiving football games (which he dearly loves) to come to our house. He even hung around and visited for awhile. Hubby's brother stayed til nearly 10pm. And, of course, I made myself sick. I ate very reasonably, but my body is used to my new way of eating and didn't care for the extra oil and butter. No one else felt sick so that's all I can figure out. And then there was Black Friday. What can I say? I was at my first store at 4pm-what a blast! And I got awesome deals! Now the Christmas decorations are halfway up and I'm counting down the days. I love the changing seasons, you get so much enjoyment out of each one~

Back to Work
I admit it has been too long since I have left a post here. When I wanted to write I didn't have the time, and when I had the time I didn't feel like posting. My alaskan friend and her little one left Wednesday evening, and I must admit to feeling quite sad at the time. We see each other every 3 years (approximately) and I am at the beginning of that time once again. She was my best friend during my college years and was my maid of honor at my wedding. We really had some fun times back then (it was almost 18 years ago, that qualifies as back then). With the ladies conference and assorted happenings, we really didn't get back in the old groove til a few days before she left when we finally had time to go out with just us. I also admit I haven't had that much "me" time in a long time. I felt downright selfish! But it WAS refreshing. Now it's time to get back to work, and my house definitely needs it. Hubby did a great job with the kid's, but is not the best housekeeper. So back to cleaning, mounds of laundry, homeschooling, and other fun stuff. It really IS good to be back on schedule. And taking care of my family is my favorite thing to do. Speaking of family.....
CONGRATULATIONS MRS.DARLING ON THE BIRTH OF A BEAUTIFUL GRANDAUGHTER! Perhaps I should give Wendy and hubby some credit too! What a blessed family~

So much to do
My Alaskan friend arrived last Thursday with her little one in tow. It has been a whirlwind ever since. And, of course, has meant many late nights and the old sleep tank is running on fumes.
The ladies conference was wonderful. I will have to post about that later as I'm presently short on time. I've kept migraines mostly at bay in spite of the lack of sleep.
I need to make the rounds of the washer, dryer, dishwasher, vacuum....well, you get the general idea. Then tommorrow is all-day shopping- fortunately for me it's the thrift store type. I do dearly love my thrift stores!
