So it occurred to me as I was washing yet another mountain of clothing, that my laundry area could use a little facelift.
Here's my before picture:
Not really that terrible looking, but not what I would call cheerful either...
And here is my after:
I refer to my laundry area as a nook because it isn't in a separate room, but off in an alcove by my dining area. I chose the apple cut-outs (which I picked up for 5o cents at a garage sale) to go along with my fruit-themed dining room.
The wicker laundry basket with the cute gingham lining is from a local thrift store ($3) and the cart for my laundry supplies I picked up for $5.
This cart originally only costs around $15. (Walmart). I really like keeping my supplies here versus the top of my dryer, where I have a tendency to knock them over when I'm in a hurry...just what I need, another mess to clean up;) Plus, the Princess loves keeping her "pretend" cleaning equipment on the middle shelf.
So for under $10. I was able to add some organization and cheer to this area of my home where I spend so much time:).To view more tackle it tuesday's visit 5 minutes for mom.

Looks so cheerful and happy now!
I like the mini wet floor sign. One of my children often come zooming through the kitchen after I've just mopped and slips and falls.
Great tackle.
Your laundry nook looks so cheerful now :) Great bargains!

I love the way that looks! It makes me want to spruce up our laundry area...even though it's in the garage :)
What a great job! I agree, as much time as we spend doing laundry it should be a cute room.
You know anything we can do to make it better works for me...here's a post that works well with yours that I just read yesterday!

Great job for very little money!
Very nice job!
I saw that we had a similar storage cart. When I saw it I added your use to my mental rolladex. I'm thinking that it would fit snuggly between my washer and dryer. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Very nice! I need you to come help me decorate my house. I have no idea what to do with it!
Why don't you wait until Friday when I have Mr. Linky (I hope) to link to my blog. Thanks!

:)
Very cute! love the little cart.
Looks great...and it looks even better for under $10!
I love it! It's amazing how such a little touch can really perk up a space. Way to go!
I love the fact that you not only organized this space but did it on a budget. When thrift shopping we have to thing beyond the moment and pick up stuff we may use at a later date. It looks so cheerful and clean. Great job.
