Are you ashamed?

Last evening we took the kids to a favorite restaurant as a treat. While waiting for our food, I decided I might as well get the inevitable restroom trip with the Princess out of the way.

As she clicked the lock into place and set down on her "throne", I heard the words to the song "Jesus loves the little children" start up.

An older lady walked into the restroom, then into the other stall. Which didn't phase the Princess any at all.

Jesus died for all the children, all the children of the world...

Jesus is coming for all the children, all the children of the world...

I have to admit I was a little embarrassed. Was it because my daughter was serenading another person during a preferably private procedure? Or was it that I was embarrassed at the message she was sharing?

While I pondered this, this passage from the 18th chapter of Matthew came to mind:
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

I think the Holy Spirit pricked your heart. I have to admit, though, that I would be a little embarassed in the same situation.

Did I mention that the Princess does not know how to sing quietly? LoL

I AM proud of my little pint-sized preacher:) This definitely isn't the first (or I daresay the last)time she's caused me to look inward. It's one of the reasons I love talking about spiritual things with my children, they aren't "mature" enough yet to complicate things as we adults do far too often.

My kids are the same way (even my 13yo and 12 yo)! If it get so loud that I can't get their attention on the first try I ask them to turn down the volume.

The girls, when they were younger, always got loud because they liked the way the bathroom echoed. The boys still like it.

My kids are also known for asking people (strangers) at stores if they are going/did go to church.

By the way, There's an award for you over at my blog. I couldn't get to your comments page last night because of a download. Our dial-up is very slow.

I think it is adorable! At least she doesn't narrate what she---or YOU---are doing like mine does! He also asks things like, "Whose shoes are those?" and "Mommy, what SHE doing?" referring to the owner of the shoes! =)
