Today I turn the ripe old age of... 37. There's a part of me that can't believe I'm really that age, but another part of me that definitely feels it (oh, my aching bones;). And those wrinkles that insist on creeping into my face, along with a few added gray hairs, only help to verify that I'm definitely not a spring chicken anymore.
Hopefully I've grown wiser. That's one of the things I'm looking forward to about old age. But then, I've met a few people who seemed to miss the boat on that all together;)
And please don't feel bad if you're also 37 (or around there) and this post is making you feel your age; 37 doesn't seem old in other people, only in myself:) I remember when we threw a surprise 50th birthday party for my father (many moons ago). I thought at that time that anyone with so much energy and enthusiasm couldn't possibly be considered old, lol. And he hasn't changed much since that time.
So here's a few quotes on aging (to hopefully encourage myself;)
"Age is an issue of mind over matter; if you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain
"The aging process has you firmly in it's grip if you never get the urge to throw a snowball." Doug Larson
"A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams." John Barrymore
"The key to successfull aging is to pay as little attention to it as possible." Judith Regan
"When it comes to staying young, a mind-lift beats a face-lift any day." Marty Bucella
I feel better already:) Have a great day!
