Is it Friday already?

This week has gone by so quickly. Between puppies (taking up much too much of my time) and homeschooling projects, it's seems as if it's just been one looong day.

It doesn't help that I have a ovarian cyst that chose to act up this week as well. I get so frustrated when I'm feeling fine one moment, only to be down on the floor rolled up into a ball the next moment. It honestly feels like being in labor all over again. Fortunately, I had some vicoden to combat the pain. Unfortunately, it tends to more and more give me migraines and nausea as a side effect. All in all, it's completely exhausting. But when you have kids to care for, you just have to push through it. So I'm pretty worn out from pushing this week;)

But I'm not sure any of that can be blamed for my lack of posting. My mind has just been overwhelmed with thoughts this week. We're contemplating making some possible big changes for our family, and going over the pro's and con's has been quite consuming. Before we had children it was so much easier to make these decisions. Now, we have to look at the far-reaching effects, and that's not always easy to figure out. I really don't mean to be all cloak and dagger about it, but I just can't say more at this point.

I'm afraid I don't have a recipe to post this week. At least not yet. Sometimes I manage to try something new for our Friday family fun night, so maybe I'll add that later.

We are supposed to have unusually nice weather here, so we're planning to take advantage of it by visiting one of the state parks. My children (and hubby) love hiking, so I might just settle under a big tree with a good book, and let them hit the trails.

Have a wonderful weekend~

I know what you mean...it's been a long week around here, too. I'm so sorry about the cyst! I have a kidney stone that does the same thing to me...it is too big to pass, and I'm going to have to go in and have it blasted away (I can't for the life of me remember what that procedure is called. Lithosomething.) I keep pain pills around just for that purpose. :o)

To your title: Yes, thank goodness!!!

I'm so sorry about the cyst! That sounds terribly painful. Is that something that you can have taken care of or do you just have to live with it? Either way, I'll be praying for you for that and for the changes in your family.

Hope you have a good weekend!

I understand why you don't have a recipe to share. I don't expect you to have one every week anyway, but I do enjoy it. I've gotten some great recipes from you.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon, that that pesky cyst leaves you alone! And I hope the Vicodin works well.

And have fun tonight. I haven't seen you post about it, but do you have family fun night every Friday night? That sounds like fun, and we plan to implement something like that when our children are old enough to appreciate it. Which won't be too much longer!

Gwendolyn: Several people in my family get kidney stones (though fortunately not me) and I know that it's just as painful as ovarian cysts (maybe more). Can you imagine not having meds to at least alleviate the pain? Hope you're able to get it taken care of soon.

Angela: I deal with this every 3 or 4 months, but I've known people who have it more severely. Unless you have constant, continuous pain that doesn't go away, they usually don't do anything about it. It only lasts for a few days.

Nikki: I really enjoy trying out the new recipes, so I'm always a little disappointed when it doesn't work out.
We've been having Friday night as our family night for a couple years now, and the kids really look forward to it each week. Tomorrow we have a museum trip planned, so tonight will be pretty low-key with games and ice cream sundaes.

The joys of not being land owners. sigh
Here I write all about the necessity to own land for emergencies but there is a draw back. That is that you are not free to go hiking when you want, or go the park or do anything else on what might be the last nice weekend of the year.

Think of me while you're reading your book under the tree. We all will be raking leaves, pulling dead plants from the garden, planting spring bulbs before frost, stacking fire wood and doing the last mowing for the season. Im hoping that come evening we can have a little bonfire of leaves. I just think every kid needs to know the smell of fall leaves burning on a crispy cold day!

I've planned a dinner of chili with blueberry cobbler for desert. Wendy and Justin may be coming over. I have a feeling its going to be a bonechilling but cloudless day. Have you felt the evenings lately? They get you to the marrow of the bones. Its unbelievable. The frost will soon be on the garden gate and nipping the noses of the pumpkins. Speaking of pumpkins we are also going to clean out all the old leering, toothless, Halloween pumpkins that still reside on the porch!

Here's to hot cider and many good wishes for pleasant hiking weather! Cheers!

Don't worry Mrs.Darling, we still get to mow the lawn and rake the leaves. And clean out the puppy pen and the shed. And load the truck with stuff for the dump and Goodwill.

But Sunday is NOT a day of rest around here, so I have to have a little time out on Saturday. All of the other things will just have to wait. I'm trying to keep my sanity here..;)
